I've had my disagreements with Senator McCain. Over the tax cuts and immigration in particular. That being said however, I do have respect for this man. He was a POW and did call for a surge in Iraq, which has worked wonders. I hope he reaches out to conservatives and together we can defeat the defeatists in November!

Mitt Romney has decided to gracefully bow out of the Republican Primary now. Even though I had supported Fred, before he considered getting in I was a Romney guy. Mitt Romney is an excellent candidate and a wonderful person. I wish him and his family all the best and thank him for running a good campaign that hopefully reminded everyone that the Republican party is a conservative one.

Update: Kaine Wins, but Republicans win LG and AG, and still dominate the House of Delegates.

Analysis: Well, It appears Jerry Kilgore lost. Kilgore ran a horrible campaign. He was up by over 10 points only a few months ago. Quite sad to see. Though, this should not be a referrendum on Bush. Remember, Mark Warner (D), our current governor, is somehow still quite popular (with approval ratings in the 70s). This helped Kaine a lot! The other helpful thing was that so many conservatives were quite unhappy with Kilgore and many skipped voting in the Governor's race. Keep in mind that the LG got 70,000 more votes than Kilgore. That would have been more than enough to win.

Luckily for the Republicans, Tim Kaine will now have absolutely no allies when he becomes Governor. So Virginia will not be tilting to the left, but maintaining the status quo until we get a better candidate in 2009. Hopefully the next time the candidate's campaign manager will have a brain and run a decent campaign.

1. President Bush has nominated several minorities to the bench. This is TERRIBLE news for the Democrats. This is because the Democrats want to be perceived as the party of inclusion rather than what they truly are which is a party of exclusion. They hate it when minorities are conservative, especially African Americans. If you talk about a bunch of racist bigots, look no further than the NAACP. These people are the worst of the worst, calling Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, both the first African American male and female Secretary of State, nothing more than Uncle Toms.

2. President Bush has nominated CONSERVATIVES to the bench. This frightens them more than anything else. They hate Conservatives. They hate them with a passion. Why? Well because the facts always back up the Conservative argument and dispel the Liberal myth. This is because Conservatism is based upon facts not emotions. Now that Conservatives have outlets like the Internet, Talk Radio, and Fox News, the Liberal stranglehold on the people is no longer an issue. Conservatives are able to get their message out and the people of the US are ready and willing to accept it. The only source of power the Liberal Left has left in this country is with the courts. If they can’t get their way through Congress (which seems to be going more and more Republican each year), then they’ll get some kook Liberal judge to overturn it, citing that the law is not fair (or something to that extent).

So what is the “nuclear option”? Well first of all there is nothing illegal or even wrong about it. It’s perfectly constitutional, and that’s my preferred term to use, “constitutional option”. Basically what this would do would be to allow a straight up or down vote for President Bush’s judicial nominations. That’s it! Essentially with the ending of the filibusters, the judicial nominees would get a straight majority vote rule and at this point every single on of the nominations has got well over the 51 votes needed for confirmation, which is why the Democrats, led by Harry Reid (aka Dingy Harry) are threatening to shut down the Senate entirely if Republicans do this.

My advice to Reid: “SHUT DOWN THE SENATE, I DARE YOU!” Clearly Sen. Reid hasn’t learned what happens to people who obstruct legislation or in this case judicial nominations. He really should talk to his former colleague, Tom Daschle, who was recently elected out of office for doing the exact same thing! Republicans now have a 55 to 45 majority in the Senate. With five more votes we would have the ability to break filibusters on ANYTHING. That means anything President Bush wanted, he would get.

So I’m crossing my fingers for a Senate shut down, but I’m not totally convinced Reid will go through with it. He probably has this nagging feeling that if he does it, it’ll be him giving that concession speech next time around.

Time Out: What exactly is a “living wage”? Basically it is a wage that helps someone who works full time to stay above the poverty line. In theory, this is a good idea.

You point out that minimum wage is bad in the long run because it can cost people jobs. Of course this prompts your Liberal friend to go irate, scream in your ear, and promptly end the discussion. So how do you win the argument before that happens?

Agree with them. I know it sounds crazy, but listen to me on this. Let’s take for example a factory worker who is earning $5.15 an hour (the current Federal Minimum Wage). Now, your Liberal buddy will say they should be earning probably $9-$10 an hour. That is when you agree. Except don’t stop. Say, well why stop there? Why not pay them $15 an hour, because $15 is better than $9 or $10 and certainly better than $5. Your buddy will probably agree with you. Don’t stop. Say, well why stop there, why not pay them $20 an hour….

Essentially, keep going until you get this type of reaction. “Well you can’t pay them that much” (or something to that affect). This is when you know you have “won” the argument. You chime in with the “why not”. Now, they’ll probably say something along the lines of “you can’t set the minimum wage at $X because not every job is worth $X amount”. Then zing them! “Well if we can’t set an arbitrary amount of $X why are we setting one now?”

GOTCHA!!!

Congratulations, you have now dispelled the myth of a minimum wage!

According to the article, Greenspan was quoted as saying "It turns out we were all wrong" regarding the forecasts on budget surpluses after the tax cuts were passed.

Clinton fired back stating: "For the record, we were not all wrong, but some of us were."

So what can we make out of all of this?

First of all, we can conclude that Mrs. Clinton and the rest of the Democrats are still clueless when it comes to even a basic understanding of economic theory.

Earth to Liberals: Without the Bush Tax Cuts of 2001, our economy would have totally tanked and most likely would have faced a depression. Does anyone want a repeat of the 1930s? (and don't try and tell me that FDR's New Deal helped us get out of that mess, because that is bunk.)

Oh and let me remind everyone reading what a surplus is: You have more money taken in than you actually spend. This is NOT a good thing. This is in fact worse than a deficit!!! Why? Simply put, if the government isn't spending everything it takes in then it is taking way too damn much from everyone. This in turn hurts the economy. How? We are a market driven economy, which means that it is up to the individual consumer to help the economy churn. When they keep getting more and more money taken away from them by the goverenment, that means they have less to spend and thus the economy has less fuel and begins to slow down, which then in turn hurts the consumer again. See how this could end up being a bad thing?

So why are Liberals so angry over the loss of these surpluses if they are so bad?

You have to think like a liberal. (Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense since Liberals don't think, but stay with me here.) What would they have done with all that money? If you guessed spend it you guessed correctly. They would undoubtedly use it to create a boatload of new programs that would most likely eat up billions of dollars, thus creating deficits or having to end up raising taxes (especially those at the upper brackets). This is bad, because most of the time, once a program has been implemented, it's almost impossible to cut spending to it or cancel it. It just ends up costing more and more each year.

So when Clinton says that only some of us were wrong, she's right. It was the Liberals that were wrong about the tax cuts. It was those cuts that helped turn this economy around and prevented us from going into a depression.

For those who don't know, Dr. Rice was born in Alabama during the time of segregation. Her grandfather was a sharecropper there. Now she is the most powerful women in the US. Pretty impressive eh?

Oh and to all the Democrats who tried to impune on her integrity (Yes, I'm talking to you John F'ing Kerry and Barbara Boxer), stop it with your nonsense.

Hmm...actually, don't stop. Your party is imploding and hopefully you'll elect Dean to be your DNC chair to ensure that you'll all go down in flames.
