Working at the Fed

Well, it has been over two weeks since I began working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Let me tell you, I love it! Everyone here is fantastic and extremely nice. It's a great atmosphere to work in and I see lots of opportunities at this institution.

Last Day at CC

CCLogo2.jpg

Today is my final day at Circuit City. I have really enjoyed my brief tenure here and am going to miss everyone I worked with. I recently accepted a position at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and believe it was an excellent move on my part and look forward to working there.

I've learned a lot while at CC and will be able to use a lot of what I learned at the Federal Reserve. As they say, all good things must come to an end.

The End of Denver

So here I am at the end of the Denver trip. It was a relatively decent trip. We had average stores and got out of each store between 5:00 to 6:30 each night, which is a little later than I would prefer, but at the same time, I can’t complain too much about it. The other team got royally screwed on this trip. Most of the time that team didn’t get out of the store until 8:00. The worst day for them was on Thursday, when they didn’t get out of the store until 11:00! Now that is insane.

Denver

I'll be heading out to Denver for an audit of that region this Saturday. I'll be gone for an entire week, getting back in Richmond on the 21st.

Hopefully the stores will be in decent shape so we will be able to get to see some of the city and enjoy ourselves.

The New York stores worked out quite well for my team and I was really able to relax and enjoy myself while up there.

After this trip, it'll be St. Louis in early June then comes the dreaded two week trip in LA. I'm really really really not looking forward to that trip. Two weeks on the West Coast is like my worst nightmare.

After that though, thankfully we'll be closer to home, doing audits in Tidewater, North Carolina, and here in Richmond. That should make things much better.

Anyway, more updates coming soon.

Audit in New Jersey

We are now in the New Jersey district performing store audits this week. We're finishing up one today and I have to say so far I'm quite impressed. Let's hope the rest of this district goes as well. I'll post another political update tomorrow. Later!

Back in Richmond

So, we are finished with the California audit. It was a long week and a half, but all in all, it really wasn't too bad.

California Trip

CCLogo2.jpg

Well it's almost that time again (travel time that is). This time I'll be leaving on Wendsday to head to California (pronounced: Cally For Knee Ah). We're going to the *gasp* San Fransico area as well as Oakland area.

Back in Richmond

CCLogo2.jpg

Well, the Seattle audit is now complete. I got back into Richmond early on Saturday (around midnight). The trip was a very good experience and I learned quite a bit. It was a bit overwhelming for the first day or two, but after that everything seemed to come together and it was almost as if I had been doing it for a while.

Seattle Trip (Part II)

CCLogo2.jpg

Well, I performed my first audit today. All in all, things went fairly smoothly. I have to say that I'm sure glad the entire department (which includes only 3 other people) is out on this trip. It can get a little confusing at times, but not too bad.

Seattle Trip

CCLogo2.jpg

Well, I'm flying to Seattle today for my first official audit. That'll take place tomorrow. I'll be auditing a total of six stores in the Seattle district over the week and be returning to Richmond next Saturday. I'll try and post on how things are progressing sometime this week if I can find a place to hook up my laptop. Until then, later!

So, how goes the job?

CCLogo2.jpg

The job is going well so far. I've learned quite a bit in the few days I have been working here. I've also hit a couple snags along the way. I didn't get my phone or laptop until today, so the last few days I haven't had a whole lot I could really do.

I'm learning more and more everyday. Just hope I'll be able to make a contribution to this first trip to Seattle. (I leave on Saturday!)

I'll post a more thorough update later today. (When I'm not at work!)

Beginning Work

CCLogo2.jpg

Well it's the weekend before I officially start at my new job. I'm really excited about this opportunity and hope it all goes well. I'll post again on this subject after my first day (which is basically an orientation day) to let you know how things went. Later all!

I've got a Job!

CCLogo2.jpg

As, I'm sure you figured out from my logo above, I've accepted a position with Circuit City as an internal field auditor. I'll be starting work on January 31. I'll be flying out to Seattle on February 5 to perform my first audits. I'll let you know more as it becomes available to me. Later!

Interview with Circuit City

CCLogo2.jpg

Just got back from my interview with Circuit City. This was for an internal auditor position at their corporate headquarters here in Richmond, VA.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone there and it sounds like a great position for an entry level job applicant like myself to start at.

I should hopefully know something either by tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

Interview Scheduled

Well, I have an interview schedule with Circuit City on Thursday afternoon. This would be for an internal auditor position.

The interview itself sounds fairly lengthy, but it'd be great if I could get this position. I believe it'd be a lot of fun, a learning experience, as well as something good for future career moves.
