I Own a House!

Well, I am now the proud owner of a house. Everything went very smoothly today, though I am kinda bummed that I will have to paint before I move in and more than likely rip up all of the carpet too.

Oh well, you can't get everything. I'll try and post some new pictures of it by the end of the week!

GeekFest Plans

I will be handling the house this year so please go and see my post over on the Deezn.com Forums.

Also, please post here in the comments section if you plan on coming and if you will bring anyone else.

One Day Left

Closing Day is tomorrow. I can't wait! I'm doing the final walkthrough tomorrow morning then going straight to the closing. I hope that everything goes smoothly. More on this subject tomorrow! (I'll try and have some pictures too!)

Word of the Day

Today's word of the day: bruit

bruit \BROOT\, transitive verb:
To report; to noise abroad.

Used in a sentence:

The NY Times has yet to bruit anything that says Joesph Wilson lied about the involvement of his wife in sending him to Africa.

Word of the Day

Today's Word of the Day: loquacious

loquacious \loh-KWAY-shuhs\, adjective:
1. Very talkative.
2. Full of excessive talk; wordy.

The juror on the Grand Jury for Congressman Delay's charge was loquacious when talking about the case to a local radio personality and said he had already made up his mind before he had even heard any evidence.

Only Two Days Left!

I close on the house in two days. I'm getting quite excited. Although I'm going to hate having to move. Packing and unpacking....ugh!

Word of the Day

Today's Word of the Day is: toscin

tocsin \TOCK-sin\, noun:
1. An alarm bell, or the ringing of a bell for the purpose of alarm.
2. A warning.

Use in sentence:

President Bush should listen to these conservative's tocsin about the nomination of Harriett Miers.

More Pictures of the House

I'm posting more pictures of my house. Check them out below. I hope to have more once I actually close on the house next week.

Word of the Day

Time to start a new category based on the word of the day from Dictionary.com.

Today's word: Pelf

pelf \PELF\, noun:
Money; riches; gain; -- generally conveying the idea of something ill-gotten.

Maybe that's what Ronnie Earle used in argument to convince a Grand Jury to bring an indictment against Tom Delay, without any proof whatsoever.

Teddy the Hero

Senator Ted Kennedy helped rescue some fisherman that were in distress in Hyannisport the other day. Apparently helping people on a boat was no problem for him, but helping a friend escape from a car that was underwater was beyond him.

GeekFest in Corolla?

We may have picked the house we will be staying at for GeekFest 2006. Check it out here:

House in Corolla

Let's hope we can get this one, especially since it has high speed internet access!

Updated Look

As you can tell, I have decided to upgrade the site today. I am now using the latest version of Movable Type (3.2) and have also changed the layout of the site.

Instead of having a 3 column site, I thought that just going with the two column layout would look cleaner. I also changed the color scheme. I'm quite pleased with the new look. Let me know what you think by leaving some comments.

Moving Closer to Closing Date!

My closing date is October 26, which is just 9 days away! I'm getting quite excited about this and can't wait until it's a done deal. I'm going to be moving in officially Nov. 12, but I plan on migrating over 2 weeks so that I can unpack as I go and then when I officially move in, I am ready to go like I have always been living there.

Geekfest 2006

So we are planning on having Geekfest the second week in January. We are not sure how many people will be attending as of yet, but so far we have 8 people confirmed on coming. Visit Deezn.com for more information!

Working at the Fed

Well, it has been over two weeks since I began working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Let me tell you, I love it! Everyone here is fantastic and extremely nice. It's a great atmosphere to work in and I see lots of opportunities at this institution.
